He became known in the mid 1990s when he started publishing an interactive animation series on the Web titled Modern Living/Neurotica, about a man who is struggling with the trappings and everyday inconveniences of modern life.

This comprehensive, region-free, hybrid DVD (Mac/PC/DVD player compatible), designed by Hoogerbrugge himself, features over 60 minutes of his works, including short films, animations, music videos, art works and commissioned works.
