Satellite Queens chronicles the lives of four female journalists-turned-stars, who host the weekly talk show Kalam Nawaem (“Sweet Talk”), known for its taboo subject matter. Hugely popular in the Arab region, the program attracts millions of male and female viewers of all ages. This documentary becomes a subtle cinematographic journey, exploring the contradictions, doubts and opportunities which satellite TV is introducing to contemporary Arab life.
